Mission Statement & Purpose
Northwest Dawah Foundation is dedicated to conveying the call to Islam in the Pacific Northwest and the pursuit of activities that are pleasing to Allah (SWT). Toward this end, the Northwest Dawah Foundation shall:
- Help Muslims to understand and practice Islam based on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
- Conduct religious, educational, social and other activities according to Islam.
- Convey the call to Islam to non-Muslims in the Pacific Northwest.
- Promote unity and joint action among Muslims in furtherance of these purposes and mission.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving Ummah (Muslim community) that is in pursuit of that which is pleasing to Allah, including conveying the call to Islam through Dawah to non-Muslims and Muslims alike.
Our History
Northwest Dawah Foundation started out as Dawah NW in 2018 as a grassroots effort with the mission to establish a grassroots Dawah effort in Oregon and Southwest Washington in order to convey the message of Islam. In 2020, we transitioned from a grassroots group to the Northwest Dawah Foundation a religious non-profit corporation. Dawah NW continues to exist today as our General Dawah / Street Dawah Program. We’ve moved our Corrections Dawah effort into its own program called Companions of Yusuf and we’ve added NW Baitulmaal a Sadaqah (Charitable Assistance) program to help Muslims in the Pacific Northwest.
