The Northwest Dawah Foundation is overseen by a dedicated all-volunteer Majlis Ash-Shura, which provides Islamic governance over the affairs of the organization.
Mohamed Hajji, Amir
Mohamed Hajji was born and raised in Mogadishu, Somalia, and has lived in the U.S. with his family for over a decade. In his free time, he enjoys reading the Quran and spending time with his family. Mohamed has studied under scholars and teachers in both Somalia and the U.S., and he has been an active elder and volunteer in the local Muslim community. He regularly volunteers at the masjid and supports Dawah efforts. Additionally, he holds ijazat in hadith and other Islamic texts.
Nasir al-Amreeki
Nasir Al-Amreeki, a Muslim convert of over twenty years, brings a wealth of skills and experience from his leadership roles in various Islamic nonprofits. He has served as an Advisor to the Board of Directors of Uplift Dawah, Chaplaincy Liaison for Masjed As-Saber, and Vice Chair of Masjed As-Saber’s Safety Committee. Nasir is also a Co-Founder of the Northwest Dawah Foundation, where he has held positions as President, Vice President, and Secretary, in addition to serving as IT Coordinator for Kama Relief. He has also volunteered as an IT Coordinator for the Hanbali Madrasah where he studies in Egypt. Nasir is also a member of Association of Muslim Chaplains.
Since 2003, Nasir has been studying Islam intermittently and has had the privilege of learning under a variety of esteemed teachers and scholars, including Sh. Yusuf b. Sadiq Al-Hanbali, Ust. Ismail Hakamali, Sh. Dr. Main Al-Qudah, Ust. Basman Al-Ashi, Sh. Mohamed Al-Azhari Al-Hanbali, Shaykh Ayyūb Ibn Saʿīd Firrī, Shaykh Fahd Ibn `Abd Al-qayyūm Ibn Al-`alā’, and Shaykhah Kishwar Bint ʿAbd Al-ḥamīd. Nasir holds ijazat in books he has studied with his teachers and also has training and certification in Islamic Chaplaincy, Islamic Counseling, and Islamic Finance.
Abdinasir Noor
Abdinaasir Noor is a student of knowledge and up-and-coming Da’ee. Abdinaasir was born in Portland, Oregon, and at age 19, he went to Somalia to spend two years memorizing the Qur’an. He returned and, in April of 2023, joined the Majls as the treasurer for NW.Dawah. Since then, he’s been a constant street dawah leader. He loves clearing misconceptions of Islam and willfully engages in religious debates. His inspiration in the dawah field is the late Sheikh Ahmed Deedat. Just like Deedat, Abdinaasir hopes one day to author books on Islam and propagate the religion to all people. In his spare time, Abdinaasir likes to go to the Gym and play sports. His hobbies include traveling, and he hopes one day to be admitted into an Islamic university abroad to further increase his knowledge
Tristan Adel Dolores, Youth & Dawah in Spanish
Tristan Adel Dolores is a 17-year-old of Mexican descent who embraced Islam at age 15 after 2 years of learning about Islam. His conversion has inspired him to follow the sunnah of the prophets to give Dawah and spread the message of Islam. His greatest push to give dawah was having to explain his new found faith to his family and those around him and answer their questions and dispel their misconceptions. Tristan is an active member of the Masjid Abu Bakr community and greater As-Saber Community. Tristan is currently a Senior in High School who hopes to continue his studies at an Islamic university in the field of Dawah and hopes spread Islam within the Latino Community! He enjoys cooking as a hobby, Mexican food in specific and loves to eat Somali Bariis and lamb ;)
Axel Kiyoshi Perez, Dawah in Spanish
Axel Kiyoshi Perez is a 20-year-old Mexican Muslim who embraced Islam after discovering the oneness of Allah and the truth about Isa (Jesus). Through his faith, Axel found strength and a sense of purpose, embracing the guidance and peace that Islam brought into his life. Driven by his deep conviction, and by the will of Allah, he hope to become a beacon for his family and community, helping to bring others of his ethnicity to Islam. Axel enjoys spending time at the masjid, connecting with his brothers in faith, and learning more about Islam. He loves playing football with friends and family, maintaining ties to his cultural roots while living out his faith.
