At Northwest Dawah Foundation, we support New Muslims with tailored mentorship and comprehensive assistance, meeting them where they are to ensure their success and growth in their journey.

Meeting Unique Needs

At Northwest Dawah Foundation, our experience working with converts and having converts in leadership and across all areas of volunteering positions us uniquely to meet the specific needs of Muslim converts. Each convert has their own story, coming from diverse backgrounds and facing different challenges. Our New Muslim Support mentors are dedicated to understanding each individual and providing tailored support to meet their specific needs. We’ve assisted converts in finding housing and employment after facing hardships like being displaced from their homes or losing jobs due to their conversion to Islam.

Addressing Convert Retention

By the permission and mercy of Allah, the Northwest Dawah Foundation has achieved a retention rate of over 90% at one year for those receiving mentorship through our New Muslims Program. We established this program in response to a pressing issue: while masajid and individuals often celebrate with enthusiasm when someone takes their Shahada, we noticed a lack of consistent follow-up. Our community lacked an organized approach to supporting new Muslims, leading to many who embraced Islam in our masajid not returning after their initial Shahada.

The Northwest Dawah Foundation’s New Muslim Support program is actively addressing this problem. Through partnerships with masajid and targeted training, we are working to ensure that converts receive both the initial and ongoing support they need to grow as Muslims and feel connected to their new community.
